This is the sequel to Ladies’ Day by the very talented Amanda Whittingham and this production was an emotional and fitting tribute to Lorraine Ratcliffe the Producer of Ladies Day last March. The company honoured her memory by casting the same actors in the roles that Lorraine helped to create. This thought provoking play, directed by Dominic Swarbrick produced some delightful characterisations by the talented cast, notably Jason Whittle as Tom, Shane and Danny. His Australian accent never faltered. Clive Nixon, as Bill and Koala and Nigel Parsons, as Ben and Bondi made the most of their very funny roles. The four principal ladies played by Carol Buckley, Kate Allen, Kym Ratcliffe and Emma Redmond had a special rapport which became obvious to the audience from the beginning of the piece. One of the highlights of the evening was the delightful Gala headed by Koala Bare and Bondi Bitch, a surprising addition to this gentle, poignant play. The Hall Players have a very strong support team who have again excelled with a great, workable set and with creative lighting and sound. I particularly enjoyed “ Sunrise over Ayres Rock”. The costume department also impressed, helping to make this a very enjoyable evening. Thank you for your kind invitation. I look forward to the forthcoming season.
