Set in Paris, this play reminded me a little of the 80’s television programme ‘A Fine Romance’.    The setting was the two apartments of Bernard and Oliver, set on the stage at the same time.  Well done to the Sutton Arts Theatre set building team.

Retired estate agent Bernard (Gary Pritchard), who also likes cycling, is convinced his wife of many years Viviane (Elena Serafinas) is having an affair with one of her work colleagues Oliver (Paul Atkins).  Bernard hires a pretty, but not to bright, actress Cindy (Phebe Bland) to pretend to have an affair with him so as to make his wife jealous, but, his wife figures out what he is up to so decides to move in with Oliver.

In the end they Viviane and Gary both realise what they are missing and get back together.  But, when on her own Viviane makes a mysterious phone call to her Doctor to finish their affair.

The cast in this production worked really well together as a team in this funny play.  Phebe Bland excelled as Cindy.  The set was well done and Ian Cornock, the producer of this play should be well pleased with the result
