I have seen 'Half A Sixpence' including the film quite a few times in all the various stages of re-write and "Kipps" must be the best.

This was a huge production and had all the required elements for a great show. The sets were great and the costumes were outstanding complementing the company and the priciplals alike. There were some excellent performances. Kipps (Kaius Calver-Hart) was solid throughout displaying his vocal, acting, dancing and musical ability. He was supported by love interests Ann Pornick (Sophie Burgess) (and Ruth Blanchard on other performances) and Helen Walsingham (Kennedy Gardiner). Both Sophie and Kennedy had lovely vocals and gave strong characterisations. Chitterlow (Andrew Bailey) gave a great comedic performance and had a strong vocal and worked well with Kipps. Mr Shalford (David Phillips) and the shops assistants of Buggins (JamesGosling) Sid (Scott Howson-Smith) Pierce (Alex Raines) and Flo (Kirsty Channon) all worked well together. Mrs Walsingham (Sarah Jane Hagerup) was delightfully OTT and all the supporting principals were well cast.

The production team of Director (David Wrightam), Musical Director (Simon Percy) and Choreographers (Chloƫ Hallam) & (Kirsty Channon) must be congratulated. The company singing and dancing was excellent and the whole show had great energy. Well done Cutain Up !!
