What can I say ? Another fantastic production. I so enjoyed this production. The set was great and captured the feel of an old shoe factory and transferred well into the Milan catwalk with the minor scenes working well and piecing it together.Charlie Price (Jack Hodgson) gave a strong performance and showed great depth of character. Lola/Simon (Brendan Pell-Culshaw) was outstanding and portrayed the two layers of Lola and Simon with great class. The number “I’m Not My Fathers Son” was moving and heartfelt between the two of them. Lauren (Jess Webster) was an excellent foil to Charlie and showed great comedic timing especially in her number “The History Of Wrong Guys”. The Angels of (Connor Brown),(Owen Birtles), (Jonah Thompson),(Lawrence Alexander),(Oliver Greenwood-Mitchell) and (Jack Gray) looked great and worked well with Lola and showed their dancing skills to great effect. There were good characterisations in Nicola (Emily Summerhill), George (Will Templeton) and Don (Sam Mitchell) displaying two sides of a great character. All in all this was a very well cast production and everyone played their parts well. The show had great energy and commitment and I must congratulate Ian Walker on his direction. Both the solo and chorus numbers were delivered excellently under the direction of Musical Director Damien Bell. Last but not least Choreographer Jessica Mellows did an excellent job of the choreography of both the Angels and the company.
Once again Phoenix thanks again for a wonderful evenings entertainment.
