~~This powerful play was a wonderful start to the new season at Sutton Arts.  It tells the story of eight officers in a World War One trench.  Their mundane routine and just waiting for something to happen.  Set in 1917, 18 year old Lieutenant Raleigh is a new arrival that meets his new commanding officer, Captain Stanhope (Jon Flood & Robert Newton).  The story is held together by Lieutenant Osborne (Alan Lowe) who tries to keep their sprits up.  Good support came from the rest of the cast Dan Payne, Stuart Goodwin George Wyton, Tm Frater and Dave Douglas.  Short bursts of comedy came from Mark Nattrass as cook Private Mason. Sutton Arts set construction team excelled themselves for this production and the lighting was most effective.

Emily Armstrong has done a wonderful job in bringing this production to the stage.  Great Production.
