This was undoubtedly a show of many colours, being bright and lively with a simple but effective set. Everyone looked good in their colourful, sparkling clothes which gave the show a real buzz. I was very impressed with the four Narrators, Eve Daly, Rebecca Mayer, Tara Boldon and Mollie Birmingham. These girls had strong, clear voices and we could understand everything they sang. I particularly liked the quality of Mollie’s voice which had a beautiful depth and maturity, with an excellent range.
Nathan Routledge was a good Joseph . He looked good and had a strong voice, while Ross Norman, as Pharaoh, gave a super Elvis impression, and sang really well. The Brothers were great, ranging considerably in age, they sang and moved with enthusiasm and I enjoyed their varied performances. I was particularly impressed with the chorus, as they sang really well with good harmonies. People forget that “Joseph” is, in format, an opera and requires strong voices to survive the pressure of the continuous sing. Everyone involved in this production is to be complimented on providing great entertainment.
The Youth group are very lucky to have so much help and backing to put on their show's and may they long continue to put an such high standard productions.
