Kidderminster O D S Youth – Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
This retelling of the biblical story about Joseph, his eleven brothers and the coat of many colours was fantastic fun and was the perfect experience for first time theatre goers and regular patrons of this talented youth group. The unforgettable score had most of the audience singing under their breath throughout the show and the cast of 30 or so performers showed an enviable depth of talent. Joseph (Daniel Richards) was perfect in the leading role as were all the other members of the cast with an excellent principal line up too long to mention. Joseph has become a tradition and many people who saw the show when they were young are now taking their children and grandchildren to see it. It was great to see the generations leaving the show with big smiles on their faces. The principals were all excellent and the ensemble (choir) numbers were well sung and staged. The overall production was first class and the Director (Doug Forrester ), MD (Russell Painter) and Choreographer (Kathryn Knight) should be well pleased with the result. The four man band provided excellent backing and lighting, sound, costumes were all in keeping with the overall excellence of the show.
