JACK AND THE BEANSTALK

It was good to see that a few people changed roles from their usual kind of parts. David Hookham moved from his usual seat at the piano to an on stage role as Dame Dotty Dimple and gave us a very strong witty performance with some excellent vocal numbers. Alison Knox gave us her usual confident performance as principal boy Jack and was well supported by Jade Appleton as principal girl Princess Primrose. Vince Empsall was indeed a most impressive Simple Simon, he kept the show on the boil all the time. Martin Lodge as the Baddie (Rancid the Ratman) gave great support to Joanne Sykes who I felt gave a super performance as the Wicked Witch. All the backing cast were well suited to their parts and as usual a good U.V. scene and brilliant costumes along with well organised lighting and sound did much to enhance this production.
