This was the best pantomime I have seen on the local scene for a very long time. Extracting every last ounce from an excellent script, Liz Woolley deserves great credit. A very strong cast put on a show to remember. From the moment the two fairies, Poison Ivy, (Angela Swift), and Fairy Beansprout, (Kara Swift) started the show, quality shone through. The hero Jack, (Ryan Barber) and Princess Rose, (Helen Perry) complimented each other well. Dozy Den, (Yvonne Baird) was outstanding, and kept the piece bouncing along. Dame Trott, (Patricia Church) was my highlight, and led the cause for more female Dames with a hilarious performance. Equally as funny were Carl McGarrigle as the King, and Wayne Perry as the Prime Minister, and any other Minister that was going.
Great support from a predominantly young chorus, with neat dance routines and good choral backing. Superb costumes and sets, backed by a good Panto Band. This production will take some beating. Well done all.
