This pantomime was different  from the regular tale. Working at the  TV Studios Jack and his mum are sacked and cannot pay the local giant`s demands. With no other choice, they decide to sell Daisy the cow. Simon, Jacks brother sells the cow for `magic` beans. The next morning  the beans have grown as high as the giant`s castle.

The evil Septimus Fleshcreep well played by David Crank,  wants Jill for his wife and  being in cahoots with the giant captures her and imprisons her in the giants castle. It is up to Jack and his family to rescue her .Jack`s mother Dame Tallulah Trott  acted well by Ian Dean-Boardman and wearing beautiful costumes was well supported by Jack (Kate Nixon) and Simon ( Stuart McCaig), who was brilliant.

I must admit to falling for Daisy the cow, beautifully acted by Olivia Saint and Rebecca Hayes. I was impressed by Emma Cunningham who roller skated throughout her first entry, most original. She played a delightful trainee fairy Rosie Glow.  Jill   (Beth Alcock) the heroine was charming. She gave a lovely rendition of Castle on a Cloud.

The chorus all acted well, just one or two mistakes, however I love the little ones. All the other principals acted and sang well, although  the music was occasionally louder than the soloists. However this did not spoil my enjoyment , I always am impressed by the commitment shown by this society . Thank you so much for the kind invitation and welcome.
