This was billed as ‘ a great family Panto !’and did it live up to its billing, well ‘oh yes it did!!’. From start to finish it had good pace, and it wasn’t too long, which has been a problem in the past.
Star of the show, for me was society veteran Eric Finley, who was playing Dame for the umpteenth time this time as Dame Dotty Trott, and he gets better every time he performs. His timing was excellent and he had a great rapport going with the young enthusiastic audience. Eric was well supported by Maddie Edgar as his knockabout son Jack Trott. All the other principals performed there parts convincingly and we had all the usual panto gags and elements in place, it was a great team effort. Mike Hogarth particularly, played a very good ‘ baddie’, and was treated as such by the audience.
The lively production numbers were well performed by the young chorus and principals alike, it was good to see the whole company performing complicated songs and dance routines together. Im not a lover of recorded music, but MD Bob Daglish did a great job to keep everyone in control.
The crew did a good job with the set and I was very impressed with the beanstalk lift, and the other effects. Lighting and sound were good and on the whole this was a very good traditional Pantomime, thoroughly enjoyed by a capacity audience. Well done WADAMS you really are the Panto people.
