I love a fun filled panto and this one did not disappoint. This production had all the ingredients – fun, laughter, singing, dancing and memorable characters all wrapped up in a charming family feel.

Our two leading young ladies did their roles proud. Lovely solo performances and characterisation. Well done Jack (Kirsty Denoon) and Jill (Sammy Shaw).

The comedy was in safe hand with a quartet of larger than life characters. Led by Dame Dotty Trot (Brian Mathieson) and King Maurice (Ali Niven) these two kept the audience in stiches with witty innuendoes and strong stage presence, I will never look at Santa hats again! Joined by the delightful duo of Silly Billy’s (Ross Robertson and Natasha McNaughton) who planted the jokes and kept the fun going.

Onstage right we had charming Fairy Moonbeam (Teresa Warden) who introduced us to the story and helped save the day. Stage left was in the powerful hands of Fleshcreep (Millar Young). Suitably evil and stirring up the audience successfully while enjoying every minute of his time on stage.

To complete the cast we have wonderfully incompetent Grabbit (Keira Tisdall) the Kings right hand man, the sweet cow Daisy who was operated professionally by Kerry Guthrie and Allanah MacLennan and the scary Giant Blunderbore (Charlotte Williamson) a small but vital part of the action.

I am always impressed by the quality of chorus in Brechin. Dancing, movement and singing was of a high standard and the happiness emanating from these young performers filled the auditorium. I know this is due to the time and energy of the production team. Congratulations to you all.

The set was effective, lighting spookily atmospheric, sound of a high standard and scene changes slick (spot on crew). The band accompanied the action with style completing a delightful evening.

As always the hospitality made us feel welcome and it is lovely to get the opportunity to chat to Ron and Rita. Thank you Combined Productions.
