Jack and the Beanstalk

I must start by congratulating the whole society on their 20th Annual production, which was, once more, a fine example of a real Community Pantomime.  As such every single person involved both on stage and front of house appeared to be thoroughly enjoying themselves, and that feeling of warmth and camaraderie spread through the audience who clearly thoroughly enjoyed their evening with you.

It sounds a little strange to begin with the Front of House staff, but I understand that such is the popularity of your productions that you had sufficient for not just double casting, but triple casting, for the junior chorus, but some of the children who were not actually on stage that evening were doing a simply superb job of acting as front of house steward for the evening, whilst at the same time demonstrating their absolute commitment to the production – thank you and very well done.  

It was perhaps somewhat unfortunate that the only evening I was able to attend was opening night, and there were certainly more than a few ‘opening night nerves’, various glitches, memory lapses and ad libs to contend with.  However, the prompt did a superb job under some very difficult conditions and audience appeared to take all this in their stride and thoroughly enjoy the whole thing by entering into the spirit of the occasion by clapping along, laughing and singing at all the appropriate times.  

Such is the community feel of this annual endeavour that the Parish Priest played one of the principal roles very impressive community involvement.  The cast, crew, front of house staff and the audience all appeared to have a great time and thoroughly enjoy the evening – so although perhaps not the greatest theatrical experience I would say that is mission accomplished and thank you so much for your warm welcome and kind hospitality.
