Its always a pleasure to visit Singleton Dreamdragons…on a very cold Saturday afternoon I and my guest were greeted with a warm welcome, as usual from Dreamdragons.. Dreamdragons always try to give us a good evenings entertainment and this time they didn’t quite come up to their usual standard.A young chorus opened this “Jack and the Beanstalk” and smiled their way through, even though they weren’t proficient enough on their singing and dancing. Tim Wilson as Dame Trott looking good but needed to lead this cast, there were a lot of pauses waiting for dialogue mostly due to the cast not being rehearsed enough in my opinion.. Steve Peirson –Webber you took your young cast and used them to the best of their ability. Leads need to be more diligent on dialogue, it may only be pantomime but it must be taken seriously and panto has to be slick. There are some nice little actors in Dreamdragons and they need to be brought out. Steve your staging was good and the set and props were excellent, as per usual, from Dreamdragons. Costumes were colourful and your “Bean” grew perfectly and all the cast gave us a jolly pantomime with modern music under the baton of musical director Jill Harrison. Even the interval raffle was very entertaining with Carole Ingram and Andrew Weston as King and Queen…well done you two. Special mention for daisy the cow Mark Henley and Alex Mapley you were the best cow in Kent, I have seen 3 pantomime cows this year and your footwork was incredibly together, well done both of you, not easy inside a cow..!!! What a pity it ended short of the Finale as the fire alarm engaged and we all wondered was it for real. Well done Dreamdragons your audience were with you all the way. You all looked as if you were enjoying yourselves.
