This was a wonderful production, bursting with energy and enthusiasm. It was such a pleasure to see so many talented performers. Karen, Siobhan and Anna have managed to extract the tremendous natural talent of the young cast and deserve great praise. The precision and energy were tremendous, and the whole company obviously enjoyed performing this magical musical.
The three narrators were confidently played by Grace Collishaw, Trinity Shelton and Lorley Shelton. Anna Green, was remarkable as the precocious Red Riding Hood. Matthew McAuley and Hannah Pettit were perfect as the Baker and his Wife, with Hannah having a particularly good singing voice. Abi Barker also had a lovely voice, giving a confident portrayal as Cinderella. Jennifer Finlay made an admirable Rapunzel. Eleanor Carty, as the Witch, gave an outstanding display, her acting and singing first class. There were also great performances from Ezzy Parker, Lilli White, Izzy Broadley, and Megan Trindell.
The boys` performances were quite superb, Billy Stewart led the way, giving a chirpy performance as Jack. Aiden Carson was excellent as the crafty Wolf. And I was certainly not in `Agony` with Ryan Phelps and Robert McAuley as the two Princes. Strong and dominant, they were superb vocally.
The set was excellent, aided by a most efficient stage crew. Very good costumes and clever lighting made for an unforgettable entertaining evening.
With lots of small parts being done well, and a most effective dance troupe, each and every one should be proud of their performance. Well done LEOS`s Youth.
