The Musical ‘Into the Woods’ centres on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to attend the King’s festival and jack who wishes his cow would give milk.  When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever.

Script Youth decided to use two cast’s for this production, the more senior section on the Saturday and the younger members on the Sunday, which I saw, and, to say the performance I saw was their ‘opening night’ they did really well.  This production, even though it only lasted an hour, was fast moving and did extremely well using every inch of space in the Barber studio of the theatre.  The set, though minimal was well used with some good back projection.

Leading the company was Frankie Donohoe as the Narrator of the piece who guided us through the show.  Playing the Baker and his wife was Daniel George and Lexi Roberts. Cinderella was Peyton Lockley, Freddie Smith as Jack and Niamh Mulligan as Little Red Riding Hood.  Great Support came from Maisie Holdsworth as the Witch and Lewis Ward-Bygrave as the Wolf.  I really wish I had room to mention everyone in this talented cast.

Costumes looked good and gave great gravitas to the production.

Louise and Tim should be pleased with the outcome.

Thank you for Inviting both myself and Karl and I look forward to seeing you soon.
