One of a series of spoof murder mystery plays "Inspector Drake and the Perfekt Crime" sees the madcap inspector miraculously find out "who did it" despite having the support of his hapless assistant Sergeant Plod.

This was Val Martin's first time for directing for the group and she did a super job ensuring the physical comedy was seamless and the play flowed really well. The open set comprised of mainly furniture along with a couple of unusual props including a warthog's head and a lamppost in the living room!

As the victim,  Victoria Short, Jean Ord made a brief but memorable appearance before having her head bashed with a poker by her murderous stage husband Rupert Short played by Malcolm Quinn.  Malcolm gave a good performance and kept his character throughout even if sometimes he was his twin brother (it was complicated!). Annette Morris and Lynne Carrs were super as his two daughters,  both called Sabrina Short (told you it was complicated ), both ladies are confident performers and good at comic delivery. Steve Pinkney as the unfortunate Sergeant Plod was hilarious, he was the brunt of most of the physical comedy including having drinks thrown over him and his "straight" face throughout was commendable.  Completing the line up as Inspector Drake was Lee Passmoor. Lee's delivery and characterisation was excellent as he personified every cliché of a detective.

The play was full of laugh put loud moments and rediculous comedy and was well received by the audience.  We'll done to all involved.
