How The Other Half Loves

Visit an Alan Ayckbourn presentation and all of life is set before you. This production directed by Penny Holland showed us two separate properties at the same time and the invisible wall between them became solid when the wonderful actors were delivering their lines. There was a particularly clever use throughout of the telephones in the separate properties and the misinterpretations that ensued. The lighting, costumes and set decor were of the high standard always set by this society. A very small point of criticism was that at a particular meal the soup bowls were empty. The very able cast of six people moved the plot at a superb pace and never faltered from delivering a first class performance. This was evidenced by the wonderful applause they received at their curtain call. They gave 110% throughout the evening and the plot never wavered in their hands. Their characterisations were first rate and their entrances and exits were spot on. Thank you Horncastle for giving your audience such a wonderful insight into the writings of the great man Alan Ayckbourn.
