For people who didn’t know what to expect from this play by Alan Ackbourne, does take some time for the audience to appreciate how the story is going to unfold.
We are introduced to Frank Foster (played by Chris Fryer) and his wife Fiona (played by Amanda Cunningham) in their up market home whose relationship has obviously “come off the rails”. Frank’s persistence of where his wife had been for the evening lead to Fiona giving conflicting answers.
We then meet Bob and Teresa Phillips (played by Matt Girt and Esme McLean’s ‘’) who have a young child who continually needs their attention. Bob was not admitting where his time was being spent.
The action overlaps time and place, so that conversations and dionner parties strangely play out simultaneously. To continue the confusion we are then introduced to a third couple, Willian and Mary Featherstone, and then the mayhem starts.
The timing, energy and the flow across the stage was excellent and held the audiences in suspense of the final outcome.
Very fine performances were given by the cast. This was an amusing evenings entertainment
Well done to all and thank you for a lovely evening.
