As soon as you walked into the theatre you were taken back to Maplin’s holiday camp in 1959. The company had really thought it through with bunting and posters all over the walls.
The production itself was a joy to watch. So much care and attention had been put into the characterizations and the set. Clair Tregellis was a joy to watch as man hungry Gladys Pugh and she sang really well. Amy Tregellis as Peggy was just like watching Su Pollard and again sang her song well.
Good support came from Matt Round as Jeffery Fairbrother and George Georgiou as Ted Bovis. I also enjoyed Helen Gilfoyle as Yvonne Stuart-Hargreaves, I am still unsure how she kept a straight face. I also enjoyed the interactive items between Ted and the audience, especially in the Best Yellow Coat competition. This really went down well with this sell out audience.
With fantastic support from all the cast this society has another sure fire hit on their hands.
Thank you so much for letting me be part of it.
