When the audience arrive to see a production from ‘Trinity Players’ the know that they are guaranteed a good nights entertainment and with ‘Hello Dolly’ they were not disappointed. From the opening number ‘Call on Dolly’ to the finale this company attacked the production with gusto. Leigh-Ann James’s choreography was inspirational and the Midlands Concert Orchestra, led by Musical Director Tim Harding were just at the right level. Sound was good and this combined with good costumes and scenery gave the audience the chance to concentrate on the acting. Katharine Hollis gave a good performance as Dolly Levi, well supported by Wayne Cooper as Horace Vandergelder. Ben Bell and John Hall as Barnaby Tucker and Cornelius Hackel sang well and worked well together. Leigh-Ann James as Irene Molloy and Helen England As Minnie Fay, really jelled as did Rachel Williams and Ben Field as Ermengarde and Ambrose Kemper. I must say I really enjoyed Ann Dempsey as Ernestina. Sorry if you could hear me laughing Ann, you were so funny. Jane and Garry’s production was again another success for Trinity. Can’t wait until the next one.
