What a lovely evening out during a miserable November!  HATS really know how to give enjoyment to their audiences.  This show, based on the novel by H G Wells is such a good story and was well portrayed by the talented cast.  Adrian Samuels as Kipps told his story well all the way through and he was ideal as this young man going through all the emotions in this tale.  Victoria Langley was a feisty Ann who acted and sang the part beautifully.  Excellent performances from them both.  All the ladies and gents of Mr Shalford's Drapery Emporium were great characters and Trevor Fuggle gave Mr Shalford the right amount of authority and pomposity.  Margaret Ward played Mrs Walsingham with aplomb, acting the Grande Dame at all times.  Lucy Smith and Pete Huggett played Helen Walsingham and her brother - good performances from the Walsingham family unit.  Cliff Bendall was an amazing Chitterlow (actor/author), playing the part in a wonderfully over the top manner.  All the other smaller parts added much to the piece as did the chorus and everyone was beautifully dressed.  The orchestra made a really good sound and the simple scenery worked very well indeed.  Principals and chorus alike made an excellent sound and "Flash Bang Wallop" was a resounding success.  Congratulations must go to all involved in this production.
