Another fabulous production from this talented group. This show maintains the high standard of previous productions and builds on the work being done with the young members.
It is so important when working with youngsters that the basic stagecraft elements are in place (projection, characterisation and stage awareness) but most important of all is the enjoyment factor. These children were loving what they were doing. Well done to the inspiring production team.
This was the full blown Guys and Dolls with a large cast and a very large ensemble. The principals all shone like stars giving their characters individuality and charm. The smaller cast parts were equally good despite a wide age range and although this was not a large space the ensemble knew their placing and gave the show variety and slickness. I particularly enjoyed the way the large numbers were directed and choreographed, all the cast got their turn and were seen by the audience. Havana was spectacular!
The singing was of a high standard and the principals handled their solos, duets and small ensemble pieces well. Some lovely voices on stage! The hard working crew managed the quick numerous changes and the props were effectively used, enough for the show but not too many for the cast to deal with.
Lighting and sound were of a professional standard.
I love the feeling of inclusion and community from this group. Thank you for an enjoyable evening and your hospitality. I am already looking forward to the next production.
