This was a great show playing to a full house with plenty of humour, good singing, dancing from a very talented quartet of dancers and good acting from the whole cast.  A sweet singing Sarah (Bekah Corrin) and strong singing from Sky (Mark Hall) gave the audience the necessary romance with the comedy supplied by Adelaide (Beth Metcalfe) and Nathan (Howard Corrin) who gave sterling performances of good pace and delivery of lines. There was a strong set of gamblers well played by John Pearce, Jocelyn Cook, Nigel Morgan, Colin Smith and Ian Hagues and a very sensitive performance from Brenda Anderson as Arvide Abernathy.  The concentration of the whole cast was to be commended with the American accents well maintained throughtout the performance.  The set, which was miminal as befits this small stage, was quite suggestive of the various locations of the plot and was efficiently handled by the stage crew.  The 4 piece band, if a little loud at times, played this difficult score with great confidence and musicality for such a young group. The lighting and sound were quite adequate and worked well.  The costumes were in keeping with the period and locale of the show. The whole was a very good piece of theatre with plenty of attack and energy from all the company who richly deserved the rousing reception they received from a packed audience.
