This story of teenage love and angst was a perfect vehicle to show off the talents of the young cast and production team to their best. From the opening company rendition of “Summer Nights” to the finale sing-a-long mega mix, which had the audience on their feet clapping and dancing along, the enthusiastic cast gave everything they had – excellent singing, dancing and acting. Hollie Cunningham as Sandy and Bradley Phillips as Danny were well matched. Hollie’s transformation from the quiet Sandra Dee as portrayed in her delightful solo “Hopelessly Devoted to You” to the raunchy hip-swaying Sandy as seen in “You’re The One That I Want” with Danny was something to behold. Bradley played the strutting, cool-dude as to the manor born. Shelley Cunningham as Rizzo the hard-shelled, but soft-centred Pink Lady was excellent and I particularly liked her heart-rending rendition of “There Are Worse Things I Could Do”. Strong performances were also given by the remaining Pink Ladies – Emily Grant (Marty), Jenna Millar (Frenchy) and Carly Scott (Jan). The T-Birds were not to be out done with equally strong, and comic, performances from Ewan Bruce (Kenickie), Rebecca McCall (Doody), Emma Stott (Sonny) and Dylan Shearer (Roger). Mention too must be made of Emmah Chibeshkudia as Jenny Casino/Teen Angel who took the lead vocals in “Born To Hand Jive”.  Costuming was true to the period and good use was made of a simple but effective multi-level set. Well done everyone for a delightful Summer Night’s entertainment!
