Grease

Grease is the word. What a show! BCMS certainly put on a great evenings entertainment.Almost all the audience were on their feet dancing, hand jiving and having a ball as the show grew to an end.  Both young and old came out singing and was it any wonder?

All the cast in this show were exceptional, having super vocals and characterisations. It is almost unfair to single out individuals. The two leads Danny and Sandy (Dean Simons and  Katy Clayton) sang very well and were well matched as the students meeting up at the start of a new term at Rydell High. Danny is unsure how his friends will take his friendship with the new girl, they are after all the ultra cool T-Birds. .Sandy,  delighted to see him again tries hard to fit in with the Pink Ladies. Leading the girls is  Rizzo played by Charlotte Unsworth, a cracking performance. Dan Sheader  was a super Kenicki as her boyfriend.

Having seen the film numerous times and sang along with most of the numbers, how can you have favourites? I loved `Grease is the word,` Greased Lightening,` Sandy` and of course` You`re the One That I Want` as well as as all the others.

Congratulations to a brilliant orchestra and MD David Wilson. Perfect.

I must mention the men, On admiring the car, I was told that it took eight men to carry it up several flights of stairs in order to get it backstage.Yes, it was huge and one piece. Well done the men!!!
