Grease is almost guaranteed to fill plenty of theatre seats and there were very few empty seats on this occasion. There was plenty to applaud. Youthful exuberance was very much to the forefront and clearly they thoroughly enjoyed being part of the action. All the main characters were nicely defined and maintained their personae throughout. The chorus members were strong in support. The singing was to a high standard and the routines were exciting, energetic and inventive. However, I feel at times the diction lacked clarity and the sound was occasionally over-loud.Sadly these are common ocurrences these days. The set was excellent with a superb 'Greased Lightning' car. The stage staff was most efficient with scene changes. The band accompanied extremely well throughout. Congratulations to the ladies responsible for the wardrobe department; they did a remarkable job. Understandably the audience gave the youngsters a standing ovation at the conclusion of the show. It was a most enjoyable production.
