This fast moving and highly entertaining show was certainly a challenge but how they rose to the occasion. The music and movement were excellent but more than that they achieved the feeling of the piece, certainly ranking alongside many senior productions. Congratulations to the director and her team. It does demonstrate what very good preparation can achieve. The cast had many excellent leads with outstanding singing from Bryleah Wilcock as Sandy and Shaun Williams as Danny. There were inspired performances from the five ‘Burger Palace Boys’, Hal Darling, William Moore, Will Watson, Zac Lelean and Felix Barrett who pulled together as a team and swaggered about the stage with all the hip and hand movements expected from young men who know they are ‘God’s Gift’ to the female sex. The four ‘Pink Ladies’, played by Charlotte Randall, Kim Logan, Grace Brandon and Charlotte Day, were equally well performed, each displaying totally different personalities and characteristics, singing and acting with great conviction. Annie Winrow and Jack Winrow gave excellent performances as Patty Sincox and Teen Angel respectively, Matt Booker, Zoe Green and Millie Cronin held their own in their respective parts and Alistair Scott quite stole my heart as Eugene. In fact all the cast, including the younger members, deserve praise as they all played an important part in the success of the show. I thought the standard of singing was excellent from start to finish. The well designed but simple set was all that was required and was well used. I loved the car which looked remarkably realistic even from the front row. The lighting was effective, costumes and props were fine and the backstage work was efficient throughout. With talent like this coming through our Senior Groups must have a bright future.
