It was lovely to see DDAOS give the youth of the town an opportunity to shine by presenting an outstanding production of Grease which was staged after an eight week rehearsal schedule. Fabulous achievement! From 'Summer Nights' to the 'We Go Together' finale we were reminded of the movie stars who made the musical famous. The set was colourful and well constructed with slick changes by the crew. The backing soundtrack worked perfectly to enhance each musical number and portrayed the period perfectly.  The leading characters were excellently cast. Danny (Matthew Taylor) and Sandy (Ashleigh Wright) both shone and were believable and relaxed together. She sang confidently, giving a heartfelt 'Hopelessly Devoted' and he danced with ease throughout the fabulously choreographed and dynamic 'Grease Lightning' with the boys. Kenickie was also excellently portrayed by Patrick Watson. The Pink Ladies line up was superb. Marty (Holly Thomas) delivered a stunning and expressive performance throughout, with a brilliant rendition of 'Freddy My Love' supported by great harmonies from the girls. Rizzo (Lizzie Lerpiniere) gave a great, thought provoking performance. Sandra Dee was quirky and well delivered but the emotion in 'There Are Worse Things I Could Do' showed great maturity. 'Beauty School Drop Out' hit the high notes and the whole company sang and danced their bobby socks off to a fabulous 'We Go Together' ,'Hand Jive' and the all inclusive 'You're the One that I Want'. A totally 'Feel Good' production. Well Done Everyone!
