Rydell High came to Norton Canes this week and how the audience loved it. This talented group of young people brought the stage to life with their powerful performance of 'Grease'. Set in America in the 1950's this colourful production was set on a single set but by the use of clever back projection and a few bits of scenery including a car, the stage came alive. The orchestra sounded good and the costumes were excellent. There were a couple of sound issues on the opening night but nothing that spoilt the enjoyment for this sell out audience.

Strong performances came from all members of this company and it was a delight to see so many happy people on stage. Matt Windsor and Imogen Pool as Danny and Sandy led the company through all those songs we all enjoy. They had good support from the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies. Imogen gave a good rendition of 'Hopelessly devoted to you' as did Matt with 'Sandy'. All the chorus numbers came across well with some good choreography.

A powerful and believable performance came from Tara Hill as Rizzo and I enjoyed the comedy aspect of Lewis Kent as Eugene and Tash Pearce as Jan. Robyn Ennis also gave a first class performance as Miss. Lynch.

With a cast of over 60 it is hard to mention everyone, all I can say is congratulations to you all on a first class performance and I look forward to Panto in January 2019
