Brierley Hill Musical Theatre Company Youth Group
This year celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the well-known film of the musical Grease and appropriately after a couple of years break BHMTC youth group chose to perform this popular musical in the newly refurbished venue.
Rydell High School in 1959 is the setting for this iconic musical and in their leading character roles, Danny played by Josh Hawkins and Sandy played by Jemma Hughes were convincing together and in their solo and duet performances. In the role of Rizzio Rhi Luckins was vocally strong acted well.
The supporting cast of T birds and Pink Ladies helped to make the show go at a terrific pace. Choreography was fresh and inventive with effective lighting and minimalist set . The capacity audience eagerly awaited each and every popular musical piece and were well served by some excellent performances and an accomplished Rydell Band under the direction of Martin Francis.
A good evening’s entertainment. Well done everyone.
