This was a story set in a charity shop, about a character called Susan who was trying to find love again with the help of her good friend Frazer.

Susan played by Andrea Baugh had the audience on the edge of their seats wondering if she would ever find love again, and with her close friend Frazer played by Jason Munn trying to help her achieve this. The partnership on stage with these two characters were played so well by both, their comedy and line delivery were very good. I did feel sorry for Frazer especially when he declared his love for Susan, but she did not hear him, and I think the audience were expecting Susan and Frazer to end up as a couple.

In the changing room quite a lot was Scotch Doris played by Jo Murray, with her tartan clothes which looked fabulous. She seems to spend her life in the charity shop trying on clothes and looking for bargains and the way she portrayed the character came across so well the audience just fell in love with her.

The third member of staff in the charity shop was Marjorie played by Debbie Armstrong had the audience in fits of laughter with her facial expressions and mannerism, every time she walked on stage, she had the audience laughing and this was down to how well she played the character.

David played by John Turner had a solid performance playing such a nice character which developed more and more as the play went on

I don’t normally mention everybody, but I thought you all played your parts so well I did not really want to miss anybody so here goes.

Starting with Tony played by Dale Howcroft, Susan’s ex-husband going through a midlife crisis. His hairstyle was so powerful I could not take my eyes of it, but he played the part with so much confidence.

One of my favourite characters on the night was Natalie played by Lou Graham, our very own Cumbrian GC (Gemma Collins) the accent was very good.

Ian Forth, Jill Connon and Dawn Armstrong, played a couple of different parts each and were all well executed, it is good when you cannot tell a person is playing two different parts so well done to the three of you. Well done to Jill on your debut play being so confident, hopefully this will give you encouragement to carry on performing.

Archie played by Nigel Banks, was so believable in his role as an old man with memory loss had me thinking of people with this problem. Coming out of retirement after 50 years to play this role was a joy to see and I really look forward to seeing you again in the future.

The show was directed by Jason Munn, and you could clearly see how much hard work he has put into this play because it is hard enough to direct a play but to be one of the main characters as well must have taken up a huge amount of his time. The play was very good, and you all must be proud of your hard work and commitment on stage.

Once again, the lighting and sound done by Sean Reynolds, was good with no problems on the night.

Finally, I must mention Sarah Waters, this was one of the best stage set ups I have ever seen, I really thought it was a charity shop as the amount of detail on stage was excellent, I could have very easily had a browse round the shop once the play had finished. The costumes were also very good. The set was dedicated to the memory of a feline legend, who sat in the window of a pet shop from 2007 – 2024 and the cat was painted in the window opposite the charity shop which once again showed the detail in the stage set up.

Well done to everyone this was an enjoyable night, and I look forward to coming to see you all again.
