The circus came to town in Crickhowell ! Crickhowell & District Players brought this fun filled lively pantomime to the stage in cold darkest Wintertime brightening our lives. Very well written and directed by LESLEY Alexander-Carter with a brilliant story line, in fact one of their best! The circus theme gave great creativity to the set designers and costume makers who every year continue to surprise us with their ingenuity and flair, great work all of you! All this is achieved by a dedicated team working through bad weather every year to bring this production to the stage and delight the audiences full of lively children waving their light sticks. Penelope Daniell gave a lovely performance of Goldilocks, with Rob Jones an outrageous Cindy and Russell Walker as a feisty Sandy. Rob Jones was starlit in his amazing circus tent costume ,he even stayed after the finale to mingle for photos with the audience and to show it at close up.. fabulous! Mike Davies gave his all leading the circus as smart Ringo with a strong performance of baddy Bertha from Julie Sussex we all loved to hiss and boo at her, supported by Boris, Andrew Fryer. Adorable Stars of this panto Daddy Bear Tony D’Anna, Mummy Bear Kathy Jones, and Rhiannon Beatty as Baby Bear charming characters and a little star owl Chloe Williams who flapped her wings so well!
Absolutely amazing dance routines from Emma Evans and Diane Davies well staged brilliant precision choreography and outstanding costumes, professional throughout, well deserved ovations.
It just goes to show what can be achieved when you have a community like this one. Congratulations and well done to you all and thank you for bringing sunshine and laughter to so many of all ages.
I commend you all for keeping up this tradition, the effect is far reaching.
