What a wonderfully entertaining afternoon I spent watching this pantomime so full of fun and laughter for everyone. A very well written piece by Ron Hall and another great production by Luke Arnold, with well thought out scenery and props, together with super costumes. I particularly enjoyed the selection of music which was just great and I must admit I was singing along, the orchestra were excellent, it was obvious that much hard work had been done, congratulations to Clive Wass. All the cast were super, "Goldilocks" played by Alice Rose was perfect so talented, and Imogen Rose playing the principal boy "Edwin" very good indeed, both making debuts as leading principals , well done to you both. Matthew Russel as Simple Simon was thoroughly entertaining, ideally suited for the role, his partner Marueen Symonds as "Marigold" was very good, both had excellent comedy timing. Marcus Burnside as Dame Trott was extremely funny as always with wonderful costumes. The "baddies", Colin Wragg as Dick Dastardly and Stephen Temple as "Igor" were great and engaged the audience very well. The 3 bears played by Claire Carter, Harriet Longley, and Rosie Hodgeson, (baby bear) were just lovely, with super make-up and costumes. The "Forest Fairy played by Paula Paylor looked perfect and delivered her lines very well: "Uncle Polar Bear" played by Jane Sampson looked smashing with a super costume and brilliant make-up. Just one very minor criticism, occasionally there was some hesitancy in the delivery of lines but this didn't detract from the enjoyment of the show. All the ensemble worked very hard and contributed much to the final production, with some lovely singing and movement. The dancing was of an extremely high standard, very well done to the the dancing teams provided by the Sarah-Louise Ashworth School of Dance, congratulations Sarah-Louise. I really enjoyed this pantomime it was very well put together, congratulations to all involved.
