This was a delightfully different Panto where we were transported into Camelot to meet a great list of Pantomime characters.
George was the principal male character and Tristan Goddard was an excellent romantic lead. Michael Bale was the cowardly Knight, Sir Spender, who gave us many laughs throughout and eventually found his bravery. Josie Mead played the young Princess Isabelle in lovely fashion and her Nanny was played by Douglas Dalziel as only he can. His performance as Nanny Fanny Le Fru Fru was exactly as a Dame should be - saucy, looking wonderful in his various costumes and giving us plenty of laughs. Andy Bennett and Wendy Knowles deserved all the boos and hisses they received from the audience as Baron & Baroness Hemlock - a wonderfully evil pair, accompanied by Yana Mason as Captain Lupus Hemlock, a really wicked wolf in a super costume.
Excellent work from all the other roles and MD Mark Dickman, together with his band, Choreographers Mo Munday and Amy Baker and those responsible for the lovely costumes ensured a high standard throughout. The programme was very well put together with the scenery looking and working well. Audiences were certainly treated to something a little different this panto season and well done to all involved, both on and backstage and especially to Cris Haniver and Charisse Goddard, Director and Asst. Director.
