Gaslight is a victorian melodrama that deals with the deceit and trickery of an abusive relationship and this play was done very well under the direction of Sue Dolby. The set looked good and was extremely well dressed which set up the atmosphere from the very beginning.
There were some very good performances from Bryan Marwood and Becky Spiegl-Watson as Mr and Mrs Manningham and they complemented each other very well. Ian Moss as Mr Rough was very convincing as the cunning detective and had good delivery. Completing the cast were Amy McKenzie as Nancy the maid and Linda Hankinson as Elizabeth the housekeeper. Both gave very good characterisations. Nancy being rather saucy and taking liberties above her station and Elizabeth always subservient and in control but with a lovely comedic manner.
Very well done LTC. Thank you for the invitation and a great evening. I shall look forward to the next production.
