A Scout Gang Show is a very unique style of show, from the inspiration of the late Ralph Reader, and the Dundee Scout cast presented their latest version of such a show. After a great opening number containing many famous, traditional Ralph songs, the youngsters broke away to follow with modern-day tributes to Bay City Rollers, the Rat Pack, and up-to-date singing Divas. In traditional GS style, the Gang took us on a tour round the world in song, ending up with The World In Union as a tribute to this year’s London Olympic Games and a sure fire winner was The Greatest Show On Earth when the stage was swamped with clowns, jugglers, a stilt walker, and ribbon artistes, making a colourful scene. Another highlight was America with, again, a tour of that country in song, culminating in a fantastic solo and chorus version of Mine Eyes Have Seen The Glory. The very young Beavers worked hard with their number getting the audience in the mood for what was to come, as did the small group of Cubs with their Milky Bar sketch. Then there were the comic sketches that raised the audience’s spirits. Yes, all in all, the show with its mix of modern and tradition was very much a crowd pleaser for all who attended.
