The Scout Gang was back in town again and brought their familiar style of show in an extravaganza of entertainment in song, dance, and comedy. From the moment the curtain rose on the show’s opening, the Gang’s enthusiasm was infectious as the audience enthusiastically joined along with them in the many musical items. You can always rely on the very young Beaver Gang to get the fun going and this they did with gusto as they performed their stage moves to “perfection”! Next came the Cubs, who found themselves in jail and special mention must go to the young Cub with the most beautiful voice who sang the Green Grass Of Home. By this time, the show was rocking and jumping, when we found ourselves being frightened by ghosts, ghouls, and ghost hunters in a Halloween stage spectacular. Songs of the Silver Screen found the cast all costumed in black and silver performing a selection of Irving Berlin songs in great style accompanied by some very intricate an entertaining choreography. Comedy was not forgotten when a group of musicals’ “misfits” told their side of the story; and the older members of the cast represented those in Dundee’s finest Police Force – the local Boabbie! More foot-tapping songs from West End Shows; great colourful costumes; and then it was time for the Gang to bid farewell as they were revealed neatly tiered up in ranks on stage rostra, reprising the songs from the show.
