The show opened with an outstanding rendition of Let the Sun Shine on. Every single member of the  young cast shone and, without exception, faced out and up with the widest mouths open I have ever seen and never faltered once. This was the theme for the rest of the show. I was so impressed with the discipline of the cast, bearing in mind the age of some of them, there was no waving at mums and dads, grans and grandads, and friends in the audience. No-one detracted from their character throughout the entire show. I was a little concerned that the music would drown them out, but I needn’t have worried as the cast belt out every number with gusto.

The young Elsa (Isla Hughes) and Anna (Helen Bordewey) were gorgeous, and the middle Elsa (Thena Morgan) and Anna (Pixie Downing) were very confident in their roles singing Do you want to build a Snowman brilliantly, which must have been daunting as it’s such a well-known song.

But the older Anna (Lillian Varga) and Elsa (Millie Grainger) were simply sublime. I have no doubt that Sophie Macklin and Beatrice Barnard-Oudot were just as polished judging by the overall standard, but unfortunately, I didn’t get to see them. Once again, the talent in this cast was mind blowing. Their voices so strong and faultless, everyone was suited to their role and the junior males were a fantastic match for the females. Anna and Hans (Jack Bird) rendition of Love is an open Door was fantastic and then Sven (Lucy Mabbort who was so funny) and Kristof (Zach Pritchard) duet was just lovely. The cuteness award goes to Ellis Ryder as Olaf who was adorable, funny, talented and perfect. I wanted to take him home. But then there was Oaken (Flo Lewis) who was so good and had the comedy element off pat and which shone through. The Hygge song and dance was great.

Elsa and Anna together were a powerhouse but when Elsa sang Let it go, you could feel the emotion and you could certainly see it. Her confidence in climbing the stairs to her transformation was remarkable and the way she belted out the ending gave me shivers. Not to mention the absolutely fabulous dress she was wearing. The raw emotion portrayed by Elsa was palpable and she should be extremely pleased with her performance.

I must mention the lighting and sound which was a major factor in producing such a momentous show. Both were incredible. However, all praise to Melissa Kings who got this cast to the standard they are. Goodness me what a talent to produce something of this calibre. Take a bow Melissa.
