Thank you for the warm welcome extended to me by Beginners on Stage on a chilly matinee performance (I know, how apt!), of Disney's Frozen Jr.
Grace Duggan and Paul Steele Co-Directed this fun, Disney production to real effect, ensuring that the whole cast were engaged and looked as though they were all have great fun.
The show starts with a younger Anna and Elsa, Amelia Holloway and Tallulah-Mae Daniels showing that small people can have big voices! As the story continues the older Anna and Elsa are portrayed with personality and enthusiasm by Elsie Tubb and Lexy Steele.
Overall, this was a lovely interpretation with a young cast. Vocals by the entire cast were good, and clearly well guided by MD Rebecca Fearnley. Choreography by Lois Press and Ellen Fearnley was in keeping with the show and fun, with all of the cast performing well with their faces (Golden rule in dancing for me, give us a smile!)
Overall, a really enjoyable afternoon spent at the Norbury Theatre in Droitwich. The only problem with a Junior production is it's restricted to around 60 minutes
I just wish the show had lasted longer as I was enjoying it!
