Thank you for inviting Phyllis and I to your Pantomime production. The hospitality, as always, was excellent and it was lovely to see such a full house.

It was great to see the front of stage area so well dressed in frosted blues and silver setting the scene for the production - a nice attention to detail. All the scenes were depicted well by the use of cloths.  I particularly liked the frosted forest and the finale scene - they both looked stunning. All the cloths were managed well and there was very little down time keeping a good pace to the production throughout, well done to the backstage crew. The lighting added to the feel of the piece and the sound was good throughout. The costumes were lovely, but I did feel that some of the principal costumes were not as good as the chorus - just my opinion.

The show started with The Snow Fairy, played by Rachel Denwood, setting the story and she did this very well. I always feel with Pantomimes that this scene is overly long, but I understand this is the way its written. This was followed by a rousing opening number involving both juniors and seniors and was finished with an excellent dance routine by the senior dancers. The two princesses, played by Becky Hardman and Scarlett Todhunter, performed and sang well. James Ridehalge and Jennifer Todhunter as the two villains, Prince Anders and Sinestra, were very convincing. The Herald played by Corey Smith and Kristian, played by Simon Armstrong, both played their parts well. Stuart Buchanan, playing his first Panto Dame, was excellent, ‘oh yes he was’!, but the star of the show for me without doubt was Louisa Morton, as Duke Wesley/ Frosty. The transformation using twin sister Amy Morton was very clever indeed. She worked tirelessly throughout, involving the audience in the plot, and her comic timing was outstanding.

Many congratulations to Shaun Donald as Director for giving us a well performed and different Pantomime. Choreographers Kayleigh Donald and Jojo Morgan treated us to some good up tempo dances. Once again many congratulations to everyone involved.
