This brand new panto was written by Reece Sibald, a former member of the group, and told the tale of the Snow Queen and how her heart was frozen by the evil Jack Frost.
The two royal sisters, Anna and Elsa, were played by Jess Furmedge and Rebecca Charlton, and both girls not only looked and acted every inch princesses, but also sang perfectly; all of their numbers were good, but their renditions of “Frozen” and “Paper Airplanes” were beautiful.
The comedy was provided by the trio of Patch (Keiron Jackson), Nanny Nelly (Cameron Burgess) and King Bumble (Will Turner) whose antics had the audience laughing out loud. The three worked well together and coped extremely well with the audience participation, something that can be challenging for the most experienced of performers. There was also a lovely cameo comedy role of Frosty the Snowman played by Adam Robson, he melted the audience’s hearts.
The evil element of the story was provided by Jack Frost and this role was very well portrayed by Owen Saunders who looked menacing and maintained his character throughout.
There was good support provided by Aidan Probee, as Heston Harriott, Holly Alexander and Caisley Graham, as the young princesses, and the entire ensemble. All dance routines were very good and the musical numbers were well performed. A highlight for me was the finale of Act 1 complete with lots of snow.
Congratulations to all of these young people for their first class performances.
