The Junior section of TLYMT certainly knew how to make a wonderful sound when they took to the stage in their production of Disney’s Finding Nemo Jr, the wonderful principal cast including but not limited to Rory McIntosh as Nemo, Bethany Wylie as Dory, Raniyaa McHussain as Marlin and Holly Grieve as Coral were supported by a wonderful ensemble of colourful fish and other sea creatures led by Musical Director Billy Muir. The setting and choreography of the different scenes was beautifully Directed by Donna Bell and Choreographed by Connie Uribe with very simplistic staging, use of cloths and minimal pauses for stage crew to do their thing. These scenes and musical numbers captured every moment of the iconic storyline of Finding Nemo Jr.
A wonderful, colourful and full of action production supported by quality sound from Accent Audio and Lighting from Phil & Morven Cooney capturing each and every moment.
So after a slightly longer interval to allow the changeover of staging, props, make up changes and 26 microphone swaps, it was time for the Senior section including 11 members of the Finding Nemo Jr cast to take us over to East High and Disney's High School Musical Jr.
A powerful start as the curtain rises with the East High Cheer Squad and other students welcoming us with the Wildcat Cheer. During the following scenes we were introduced to the Principal cast including but not limited to Louis McGregor as Troy, Hannah Petrie as Gabriella, Suzanna Wylie as Sharpay & Cameron Prophet as Ryan, who all brought forward great characterisation and were supported throughout this story by a very talented ensemble. The cast were certainly put through their paces with tight harmonies, big sing numbers and scene setting by Jenni Main as Director/Choreographer and Billy Muir as Director/Musical Director.
The use of the split level stage, effective lighting and a great quality sound assisted with an overall excellent performance of an iconic musical.
Congratulations TLYMT on your productions and I wish you all well for future productions.
