Will the name of “Fifty Shades Of Musical” The expectation was a show full of Raunchy and suggestive numbers from shows like “Chicago” and “Gypsy”, but unfortunately it proved to be a  fairly static, stand and sing concert of varying standards with very little movement.

The first half was a medley of songs from Oklahoma, The King & I, Carousel, My Fair Lady, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver and Mary Poppins. The high light for me was” Consider yourself “from the young children in the cast

The Second half was more up to date with songs from Frozen, Wicked, Spamalot, Les Miserables and an Andrew Lloyd Webber Selection. There we several outstanding numbers, Do you want to build a snowman? I don’t know how to love him, Think of me, I dreamed a dream. Stars, Castle on a cloud, Bring him home and my particular favourite was, Whatever happened to my part? The production at times looked a little untidy, because there were often far too many cast members on the small stage and unfortunately one or two looked extremely bored.

I can never understand why the company feel they need microphones in such a small venue. It did look odd having the microphone stands placed on the extreme left and right of stage front. If you are using microphones on a stand or hand held, the soloists need to be shown how to use them properly and the sound man needs to be on top of the job.

Overall the concert was very enjoyable and well received by the audience.
