Tettenhall’s concert always comes in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping and attending this concert was like an oasis in the desert!
A lovely selection of Christmas music and show songs, not all well known but nevertheless enjoyable. Soloists were articulate and “on the note”. Terry Green was definitely in charge of the music and didn’t hesitate to conduct the audience in the singing of the carols. He also played an impressive piano solo, “The Waltz in A Flat” by Chopin.
As always the Flanders and Swann offering from Julian, who also provide the linking between items, was well received. The concert ended in fine style with a rendition of “A Jolly Jazzy Christmas”. I must not to forget the afternoon tea of sandwiches and cake served by the cast during the interval. This was very well received!
It would be unfair of me to single out any performer. They all contributed to make this the most lovely start to Christmas. I look forward to their concert version of “The Mikado” which the Company are performing in February.
