Three episodes of the T.V. comedy from 1975 made the evening's entertainment, which was much appreciated by the packed audience. 'Fawlty Towers' was based on a Torquay Hotel where the owners were not very happy about the portrayal of their hotel; but the T.V. programme was voted top show in a poll for the 100 greatest British programmes in 2000. The portrayal by the Marsden group was first rate and well deserved the laughter and applause for the antics they got up to. The cast were very true to the originals with Ed Hoyle as Basil Fawlty, Sue Gledhill as Sybil, Chris Comber as Manuel, Robbie Pogson as Major Gowan, Peggy Ellis as the delightfully deaf Mrs Richards, Katie Field as Polly and Charlie Wilson as Terry, who all played extremely well. There were many more in the cast list and their characters were all well portrayed.
