Well this may have been the junior version of Fame but the performance was certainly of “senior” quality. The large cast was no problem for Carol, the movement was always smooth and integrated with the dancing, making full use of all the facilities available. The musical side had been very well prepared by Dave with great singing from principals and chorus throughout the show. On stage we had an amazing display of talent, it was difficult to believe we were watching a junior group. All the performers deserve a mention but to name a few – Tom Hopcroft was a super Tyrone, Katie Lawson a lovely Iris, Hayden Fletcher and Chloe Hopcroft were great as Schloma and Carmen, as were Lewis Haycock and Hattie Kemish as Nick and Serena, while Georgia Marvin gave a delightful character performance as Mabel. There was full support from all the cast with nice character cameos throughout. The choreography and dance were outstanding and could be difficult to match in may senior companies. The sets were simple but adequate with the changes handled efficiently and the lighting was used well. The show demonstrated what can be achieved with enthusiasm, team work and talent from the cast and production team alike. Great entertainment.
