In my younger days, when I was about 15, there was one particular musical soundtrack on vinyl that I think I nearly wore out through constant playing.  That album was the West End Cast recording of Evita with Elaine Page as Eva and David Essex as Che..

I was therefore very familiar with the structure of the musical, including its constant recitative rather than spoken dialogue which some can find off-putting, but which I think suits the narrative perfectly.  It was therefore with some nervousness that I took my seat in the Duchess Theatre to see how the Erewash creative team and Cast would match up to my very fond memories of this classic Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.  With Beth, Kim, James and Laurie at the helm I very quickly realised that I had nothing to worry about as I was transported to both Argentina and my teenage front room thanks as their hard work and the talents of the on-stage team and live band once again made up of the legendary Long Eaton Affordables..
