This was a funny, very witty, and sometimes quite irreverent comic drama following the death of a Vicar, and his Widow’s musings of life in conversations with her deceased husband.

A superb performance by Andrea White as Grace, the Minister`s Widow deserves all the plaudits.  On stage for most of the performance she delivered a whole string of laconic put downs, wonderfully timed, and with a no-nonsense character that never slipped.

Playing her late husband Bardolph, Martin Illston was sedately laid back even when skeletons in the closet were revealed.  A totally convincing performance.

Irene Thorpe played Ruth, Grace`s sister, with whom she had a fractious relationship, which was only to get worse when she dropped a bombshell during the proceedings.  Again, another great portrayal.

Playing Grace`s daughter Jo, Sonia Hardy was wonderful, trying to unite the warring sisters and finding some peace for her mother.

Completing the line-up, Wendy Beric played Sarah the prospective successor to the Vicar, with another excellent performance, adding greatly to the plot.

Delivered by a top-quality cast, with thoughtful direction by David Jones, this was a very strong play throughout and deserved the rousing applause by a very appreciative audience.
