How very exciting and forward-looking to form a Youth Section and to put on your first show ‘Doggonit’ (a lazy Bees script for youngsters). You have always had a big youth input in the pantomimes and to extend into workshops, and now a show, is good for the town. Well done to those who worked so hard to get to fruition.
An interesting theme of dogs and owners and, of course, the wicked research vet. Those costumes clever for the dogs and that makeup was very special and must have taken time to prepare.
Caitlin’s (Emily Mortimer with presence and voice) dog Dakota (Chloe Preston) at Ms Nancy’s (Erin Harris) School for Dog Obedience failed all round as being somewhat feisty, and we knew could speak to each other. Parents send to Dr Live to correct, William Bailey, and he was excellent as the research scientist determined to create the ideal dog with DNA injections, definitely the ‘baddie’. The other dogs all assembled and cowed but Dakota stirred them into rebellion, some lovely dog-characters from all the canines, especially Bandit (Dylan Harris) and the tiny Kiwi (Megan White) with big voice. These twelve youngsters definitely the ‘stars’ in the production but assisted by the ’10 adults’ in good projection and company singing. Needless to say, in a youth production, all ended happily, and boding well for the future of drama in south Norfolk.
A great enterprise and well supported and may you go on with success in this youth venture, and I look forward to the next event.
